I've always had an interest in people; the way we think, the way we learn and the way we become who we are.  With 15 years experience in both teaching and senior leadership roles in mainstream primary schools, I needed to take this interest further.  I have often been frustrated by the lack of support available to children to help them heal from past or present trauma and enable them to reach their full potential.  So what could I do to better support the emotional needs of children?

I came across play therapy as I studied for my degree in Psychosocial Science.  I have since completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy with APAC.  I love the way that the non-directive approach allows children to work at their own pace in a space that is safe and truly permissive.   I love witnessing each child make sense of their world and develop their sense of self.  I am also now equipped to support parents and professionals to help the children in their care navigate the complexities of their emotional development.

I whole-heartedly believe in the power of play and creativity and the way they can support children through positive and challenging life experiences.

Please get in touch to discuss how I may be able to support your child, you or your setting.
